Between 2011 and 2015, while living in Coffs Harbour, operating Cr8Studios, and working as an independent freelance photographer, I was engaged by Canopi Learning Solutions, then operating under the Canopi Online Training name, as a production photographer across a range of professionally managed shoots for their online education platform.

Canopi provided detailed briefs and managed all production logistics, including talent, locations, scheduling, and client liaison. This structure allowed me to focus entirely on image-making within well-supported, clearly defined production environments.

Canopi Learning Solutions - National Umpiring Accreditation at the Opals V NZ in Sydney

One standout experience was photographing an international Opals basketball game in Sydney, positioned courtside at the goal post inside the Quay Centre, formerly known as the Sydney Olympic Park Sports Centre. This placement offered rare proximity and perspective within a high-level professional sporting environment.

Across all projects, I was engaged as the principal photographer and supported by Canopi’s full production infrastructure. Each shoot was carefully planned, professionally executed, and aligned to the visual requirements of structured online training content.

This body of work represents a sustained period of diverse commercial production, balancing clarity, energy, and authenticity, and reflects the breadth of my photographic practice during the Cr8Studios era.

Since the period of my engagement, Canopi Learning Solutions has evolved significantly, expanding its scope and refining its brand focus as a strategic learning and performance support company. Its current emphasis is on learning systems, microlearning, platform integration, and long-term organisational capability building rather than showcasing historical production assets.

Canopi’s contemporary presentation positions the organisation as a comprehensive learning solutions provider, offering strategy, content development, hosting, system integration, and publishing services, with visual material serving a functional rather than archival role. As a result, much of the earlier photographic production created for client-specific training programs is no longer publicly visible, having been superseded by updated platforms, refreshed content, and evolving client requirements.

This period forms part of the broader Cr8Studios and freelance production years, prior to establishing ART1.
