Project Overview

Galleria Shop Eat Relax was a distinctive lifestyle café and retail space located in Bowra Street, Nambucca Heads. Combining quality food, curated retail, and holistic wellbeing services under one roof, Galleria became a much-loved local destination known for its welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful design, and integrated approach to hospitality, retail, and wellbeing.

This project was developed in close collaboration with web designer and writer Stephanie Hunt, with whom I worked on multiple creative and digital projects. From our first meeting, Stephanie was a generous and insightful collaborator who consistently supported my creative contribution and recognised the value of strong visual storytelling within brand development.

She later conducted the interview for *The Most Interesting Person I Know*, further reflecting the depth of our professional relationship and her long-standing encouragement of my work.

Creative Collaboration

Working alongside Stephanie Hunt, the Galleria project followed a clearly defined brand and website concept. Stephanie brought strong structural thinking, editorial clarity, and well organised creative frameworks to each project, providing an excellent foundation for visual development.

Her ability to translate client values into practical, elegant digital experiences allowed me to focus on producing photography that aligned seamlessly with the broader narrative and design strategy.

Our collaboration was built on mutual respect, open communication, and a shared commitment to quality outcomes. Galleria represents one of many successful projects shaped through this creative partnership.

Scope of Work

For Galleria Shop Eat Relax, I was commissioned to produce a comprehensive visual content library for digital and promotional use, including:

Interior and exterior photography

Café and food presentation imagery

Retail and lifestyle product documentation

Environmental and atmosphere studies

Staff and service context imagery

Website, blog, and social media visual assets

In addition to original photography, I documented the completed website through high resolution screenshots, creating a long-term visual record of the finished digital platform.

Brand and Atmosphere

Galleria’s concept centred on balance, comfort, and wellbeing. The space brought together:

Quality coffee and fresh, seasonal food

Boutique clothing and homewares

Holistic and wellness services

Community-focused hospitality

The photographic approach reflected this layered identity. Imagery was developed to convey calmness, warmth, and approachability, while maintaining professional clarity and consistency across platforms.

Each image was created to support both emotional engagement and practical brand communication.

Digital Presence and Platform Use

A significant component of this project was the active deployment of commissioned photography across public-facing digital platforms.

Galleria’s imagery was used extensively within its Google Business Profile, where it supported customer discovery, brand recognition, and ongoing engagement. Screenshots from this period document the rotation and presentation of interior, food, and retail imagery within Google’s interface from late 2017 onwards.

This public, time-stamped usage provides verifiable evidence of the long-term value and practical application of the commissioned content.

Website Integration and Editorial Content

The completed Galleria website integrated original photography across all major sections, including:

Homepage and hero imagery

Shop, Eat, and Relax branded sections

Inspirations and blog platform

Loyalty and promotional campaigns

Editorial and long-form content

Photography functioned as the central visual language of the site, supporting navigation, storytelling, and customer engagement. Website screenshots preserved within this archive demonstrate how imagery was embedded within a cohesive digital ecosystem.

This integration reflects a fully realised collaboration between design, writing, and photography.

Project Significance

The Galleria project represents a comprehensive example of integrated commercial branding and digital storytelling within a regional small-business context.

It demonstrates the value of sustained collaboration between photographer, designer, and writer in delivering cohesive, professional outcomes across multiple platforms.

For my own practice, this project reflects an approach centred on producing image libraries that are not only visually appealing, but strategically aligned with brand identity, user experience, and long-term digital visibility.

Legacy and Archive Value

Although Galleria Shop Eat Relax has since closed, this body of work remains a strong example of considered hospitality and retail branding supported by high-quality visual documentation.

The archived photography, platform screenshots, and website records now form part of my long-term professional record, illustrating the depth, consistency, and applied impact of my commercial practice.

This entry also stands as a record of an important creative partnership with Stephanie Hunt, whose professionalism, generosity, and respect for collaborative process helped shape many successful projects during this period.
