Overview
Slingsby Earthenware is the studio practice of ceramic artist Rob Slingsby, based in Glenreagh on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales. Known for his hand-thrown vessels, functional ware, and large-scale forms, Rob has built a strong regional reputation through his studio practice, workshops, and community engagement.
His work reflects a deep connection to material, process, and place, with an emphasis on traditional hand-making methods and kiln-fired earthenware.
My Involvement
I photographed Rob at work in his Glenreagh studio during a documentation shoot focused on process, form, and making. The resulting series was produced in black and white, emphasising rhythm, texture, and the physicality of clay work.
The photographic series was later used to promote his solo exhibition at First Avenue Gallery, Sawtell.
This archive preserves that documentation as part of my broader practice of recording artists, makers, and creative environments across regional New South Wales.
