Overview
This project involved the development of a coordinated suite of photographic and visual assets for Sydney Blinds & Screens and their manufacturing partner Sunlight Products, supporting web, marketing, and promotional platforms.
Working in close collaboration with the company’s Marketing Director and web design team, I was engaged to deliver imagery that aligned precisely with brand positioning, product specifications, and digital presentation requirements. The project required a hybrid workflow combining controlled studio photography with on-location industrial documentation.
Studio-Based Product Photography, Elizabeth Bay
A range of blind systems and miniature product samples were delivered directly to my Elizabeth Bay studio to facilitate controlled, high-resolution photography.
This studio phase focused on:
Material texture and fabric quality
Precision of finishes and components
Consistency of colour and tone
Clean, minimal presentation for web and print use
Working with physical samples allowed for careful lighting, composition, and detail control, ensuring that product imagery accurately reflected manufacturing quality while maintaining visual clarity for online platforms.
Location Photography, Western Sydney Manufacturing Facility
Complementing the studio work, location photography was undertaken at Sunlight Products’ manufacturing warehouse and distribution facility in Western Sydney.
This phase documented:
Production and assembly processes
Industrial environments and workflow
Quality control procedures
Distribution and logistics operations
These images were developed to communicate scale, capability, and professionalism, reinforcing the company’s positioning as an experienced, locally based manufacturer serving national markets.

Integrated Creative Collaboration
Throughout the project, I worked directly with:
The Marketing Director
The internal communications team
External web designers and developers
This collaborative structure ensured that photography, layout, and digital presentation were developed in parallel, allowing imagery to be produced specifically for its intended application rather than retrofitted after design decisions had been made.
This approach supported:
Visual consistency across platforms
Efficient production workflows
Accurate brand representation
Long-term usability of image assets
Professional Context
With over four decades in the window furnishings industry, Sydney Blinds & Screens and Sunlight Products required visual documentation that reflected their established reputation for quality, reliability, and local manufacturing.
The completed photographic suite contributed to:
Website content and corporate profiles
Product catalogues and brochures
Digital marketing campaigns
Sales and trade presentation materials
By integrating studio precision with industrial authenticity, the project presented both the refinement and operational depth of the organisation.

Pleated blind detail, studio photography.
Close-up documentation of fabric structure, cord mechanism, and folded profile, produced at the Elizabeth Bay studio for Sydney Blinds & Screens and Sunlight Products’ product and web presentation.

Blind, roller system, and security hardware detail studies.
Composite documentation of slat construction, chain mechanisms, fabric housing, and locking systems, photographed in studio and on location for Sydney Blinds & Screens and Sunlight Products’ technical, sales, and web presentation.
Creative Approach
My approach to this project balanced technical accuracy with visual restraint. The intention was not to dramatise production environments, but to present them with clarity, honesty, and structural coherence.
Key priorities included:
Neutral, timeless visual language
Emphasis on material integrity
Respect for operational environments
Longevity of image assets
This ensured the work would remain relevant beyond short-term marketing cycles.
