Collection: Coastal Noir

Coastal Noir is a limited edition abstract coastal fine art photography collection by ART1, created as museum-quality wall art for collectors and contemporary spaces.

This collection is a visual meditation on the edge of land and sea, where black-and-white imagery transforms coastline into abstraction. In these fleeting moments, nature becomes form, light becomes texture, and the familiar dissolves into mystery.

Born from the exhibition Noir et Blanc on the Coffs Coast in 2017, the series evolved through love, loss, and resilience. What began as an exploration of monochrome expression became a signature body of work, a dialogue between light, shadow, and emotion.

Series Origin and Exhibition History

Following its early development, the work was selected for presentation at the SHIMMER Photographic Biennale, City of Onkaparinga, in 2018 and exhibited at Kay Brothers Winery Gallery, McLaren Vale, South Australia. Reprinted on museum-grade cotton rag paper, the exhibition became an immersive experience of mood, movement, and reflection.

Today, Coastal Noir stands as a cornerstone of ART1, an abstract coastal series that celebrates nature’s quiet drama and the artist’s ongoing evolution and transformation.

Limited edition of 50.
