Ordinary household pegs become a miniature structure inhabited by brightly coloured confectionery figures. Some emerge clearly while others dissolve into soft focus, creating a playful visual hierarchy of observation, recognition and identification.

The familiar expression “got you pegged” suggests knowing exactly what someone is like, placing them within a category or believing they have been figured out. Here, the phrase is transformed literally through the unlikely combination of people-shaped sweets and everyday clothes pegs.

Part of Cliché Life, the work uses humour, scale and familiar objects to explore the strange imagery hidden within commonplace expressions.
