Cliche Life - Santa Babies - 90x60cm Horizontal (#266858v1)

Wrapped almost completely in a red-and-white striped scarf, a tiny red figure emerges against an oversized green knitted hat in Santa Babies - 266858v1.

The familiar colours and textures of Christmas are reduced to a miniature theatrical encounter. A striped scarf trails across the reflective surface, soft white pompoms interrupt the foreground, and the diminutive figure appears strangely composed amid clothing dramatically larger than itself.

Playful yet deliberately ambiguous, the photograph turns familiar festive objects into an absurd little portrait of scale, character and seasonal excess.

Part of Raymond Mather's ongoing Cliché Life series, the work uses collected objects, constructed still life and visual humour to reconsider the familiar.

Printed on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks. Each work is individually signed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
