Photographed at close range and dramatically enlarged, the familiar confectionery form takes on an unexpected physical presence. Its curled horizontal posture suggests sleep, while translucent folds beneath and around it become an abstract landscape of soft light, reflection and suspended form.

The familiar expression sleep like a baby is interpreted literally, using humour, scale and photographic transformation to reconsider an everyday phrase. Removed from its ordinary context, the tiny object shifts between confectionery, sleeping figure and sculptural form.
