Photographed at close range, the tiny confectionery forms are transformed through scale and shallow depth of field. Orange, yellow, green and red figures emerge between blocks of white sugar, creating the impression of small characters navigating an oversized geometric landscape.

The irregular arrangement of the sugar cubes creates pathways, barriers and changing levels around the figures, while the vivid translucent colours contrast sharply with the predominantly white environment.
