Trolley Dolly - Series No.1: 197302, vivid, defiant, and full of emotional resonance, this fine art photograph from Raymond Mather’s Trolley Dolly series features a handcrafted rag doll dressed in rainbow colours, standing tall beside a miniature shopping trolley filled with colourful scraps, beads, plastic pieces, and repurposed fabric. Her striped limbs and confident stance evoke strength, while the trolley of “life contents” serves as both prop and metaphor for the burdens carried by many, especially women and children experiencing homelessness.
Set against an urban wall awash with graffiti blues and motion, the work juxtaposes playful innocence with harsh truth. The doll becomes an avatar for overlooked lives: bright, brave, resourceful, and rarely seen. This image, rich with texture and tone, speaks volumes without words, inviting empathy and reflection through scale, colour, and symbolism.
Printed on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks. Each work is individually signed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
