Trolley Dolly - Series No.1: 197291, bold, bright, and symbolically loaded, this fine art photograph from Raymond Mather’s Trolley Dolly series features a handcrafted cloth doll standing proudly beside a miniature shopping trolley adorned with colourful scraps, ribbons, plastic trinkets, and layered textures. Her rainbow striped limbs, red pigtails, and stitched smile project innocence and play, but a deeper narrative hovers in the background. Behind her, the doll's silhouette casts onto a cosmic mural, turning the mundane into the mythic.
This image speaks to identity, survival, and transformation. The doll represents a spirit of joy, protection, and vulnerability, while the cart she pulls, overflowing with life's salvaged fragments, echoes the experience of those navigating homelessness. At once whimsical and profound, this work captures the emotional spectrum of those who live visibly invisible lives.
Printed on museum-grade archival cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks. Each work is individually signed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.
